I am unable to print, but HardInfo says my printer is found but "idle", as it should be. HOWEVER. . . Details: I have been using CUPS, on Lucid Puppy 5.2.8 up until yesterday, March 4, 2013 I was able to print. Even though 0.5.1 HardInfo says my HP Officejet 6110 is "idle" and I assume available [via a USB port on computer, via cable, to USB port on printer], I'm still not completing any print jobs. They have all failed today. Even with reboot. Could this be related to USB devices not found bug, reported earlier [see Listing]??? Though I'm no Linux expert coder, but have coded on other OS's, my Spidey Sense tells me that something should be reported to me via HardInfo, i.e. a more informative status regarding my link to my printer, you think??? As you know, error messaging can be tricky. The earlier USB bug seems to be NOT FIXED in my understanding, that is, the ERROR at my USB should be deeper than just a "checked okay" test. The USB on my computer wired to my printer should be telling HardInfo more about the printer not being able to print. A "test printer" sub-routine in HardInfo might be nice to verify that in fact I have more than just 2 USB ports and a wire talking to each other via software, if you know what I mean. Of course, if HardInfo can't probe the printer, then my wish for more printer status info is mute. I hope this helps. Sorry, if my QA, and years of tech are showing through on this one.

HardInfo will only report what CUPS says. If you can't print, it's not a fault in HardInfo, it's in your setup, printer drivers, filters, and/or CUPS.
