I have made [a bit of] work for i18n (I'm planning to continue it)
Patch at http://pastebin.com/Ha587vKJ

That's really nice! Could you please fork HardInfo on github and issue a pull request? It would be easier to get this upstreamed.

hi,
do we have a newer status on this bug? Because i would do the german translation for hardinfo with launchpad if we have a translation-template ready.

vmax work has not been integrated yet. I could never make it work, actually. I'm currently busy with other projects, but I can help someone continue his work to bring i18n to hardinfo.

It seems that that tarball contains some unstaged things -- I'd prefer if translation support were supplied as patches, it would make the code easier to review and integrate. In any case, I couldn't get this to work. Copied hardinfo.mo to the place that's stated in the forum, set my locale to 'ru', and I still got English messages. Maybe I'm missing something, because I don't speak Russian and the automatic translation wasn't as clear?

place hardinfo.mo to /usr/share/locale/ru/LC_MESSAGES
the hardinfo.mo is precompiled in "po" directory
Russian translation work fine.

The automatic translation is good, my english is very poor/

I am the "original author" of i18n of Hardinfo. I was doing it for Puppy Linux translation into Russian. I have made a patch for it: http://pastebin.com/1nCZt9Q1 It's not completed yet. Some files could still be gettexted. Mostly files in 'modules' directory. I also fixed two bugs: Load Average was not updated in Russian locale so set it to 'C' and Puppy Linux wasn't detected properly as a distribution. Used this information for i18n: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=i18n.pdf&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CCEQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.debian.org%2Fdoc%2Fmanuals%2Fintro-i18n%2Fintro-i18n.pdf&ei=8do7UPSgOamr0QWojYGICQ&usg=AFQjCNH36l4nMtkuJRhNPBDMwOh5-Jsezg
Also I do not know how to generate .mo file while compiling and placing it where it should be when installing so I did this manually.

I have submitted an unmodified copy of rodin.s patch to GitHub: https://github.com/lpereira/hardinfo/pull/8

The source compiles and works (in english). I am working in a spanish translation of the tool.
